That way, you’ll know exactly what awaits before you book your cabin.

Boarding at Paros: day one of your cabin cruise in the Cyclades

We meet in Parikia, on the island of Paros, at 9 am for a first coffee together. Then we board in small groups to settle our things in and make our cabins our own.
Once everyone is aboard, we go over the week’s provisioning and draw up the shopping list. Then it’s off to the local shops to stock up for the days ahead. Other logistical stops are planned along the way, but on Paros everything is close at hand — and at reasonable prices.
At 10.30 am, before heading out, comes the safety briefing — an essential step for worry-free sailing. To ease into it, a 1.5-to-2-hour passage lets us get gently used to the boat and the first pleasures of the sea.

The first passage: between Paros and Antiparos

This first passage is meant to be gentle and instructive: everyone can get a feel for the boat and learn the right instincts as she glides along under sail.
Our starting area, between Paros and Antiparos, is ideal for finding your sea legs: calm waters, few waves, and superb anchorages for our first lunch on board.
Around 1 pm, we drop anchor in an unspoilt cove and enjoy our first swim in the turquoise waters of Antiparos.
After a light meal prepared on board, a restorative nap and a reviving coffee, we hoist the sails again to reach the first island of our journey.

The first stop: an island at the heart of the Cyclades

Depending on the weather and what you fancy, we set a course for our first stop: Iraklia, Folegandros, Ios, Kimolos, Sifnos… or another gem of the Aegean Sea.

Around 6 pm, once we have arrived, it’s time to step ashore. The crew sets off to explore the island: a stroll through the Chora, the historic village with its narrow lanes and whitewashed houses, then a wander around the surroundings.

On the skipper’s good advice, at around 8 pm we settle into one of the best local tavernas for a convivial dinner, a chance to share our impressions and the day’s highlights.

Back on board around 10 pm, a good night’s rest awaits before we tackle the second day of our adventure full of energy.

A typical day on a Cyclades sailing cruise

In the morning, everyone wakes at their own pace, enjoying a refreshing swim and a sunny breakfast on board.
Around 10 am, we hoist the sails and set a course for a new island, a passage of about three hours. On the programme: an introduction to the basics of sailing, explanations of the manoeuvres, and for anyone keen, hands-on involvement (trimming, taking the helm and so on).
Around 1 pm, a lunch break: a reviving swim followed by a light meal on board in a relaxed mood. Then at 3 pm we set off again to reach our destination.
Once alongside or at anchor, you’re free to explore the island on foot, take in its landmark sights or wander its picturesque lanes.
In the evening, as a group or as you please, several tavernas and restaurants await to sample the local specialities.
Finally, back on board before midnight, a good night’s sleep sets you up for the next day’s adventures.

Nights in harbour or at anchor: the perfect balance of the cabin cruise

As the week goes on, we happily alternate nights alongside and at anchor, to vary the pleasures and the experiences.
Alongside, getting to the boat is easy, and everyone can come and go freely, in complete independence. It’s also a chance to take a little time for yourself. One word of caution, though: Greek harbours, often small and very busy, don’t always guarantee a free berth…
At anchor, it’s pure magic. Not a sound, just the starry sky, midnight swims and waking up able to dive straight into the turquoise water. These nights offer a real escape, a feeling of absolute freedom.
Even at anchor, if we’re close to a village or a harbour, you can still explore the islands, dine in a taverna or wander the lanes.
And then there are those wild anchorages, where you feel almost alone in the world… Precious moments, to be savoured over a meal prepared on board, under the stars.

Sunday disembarkation: the end of your Cyclades sailing cruise

On Sunday around midday, we return to the harbour of Parikia on Paros. After a final crossing often brimming with memories, everyone steps ashore gently, with time to say goodbye to the crew and fellow crewmates.
Your cabin cruise in the Cyclades ends with bonds forged, a head full of memories and — we hope — the urge to come back. And if you’d like to extend your stay on Paros or visit other islands by ferry, our skipper will gladly share his best tips.
For anyone catching a flight, Paros airport is 15 minutes from the harbour. You can also reach Athens by ferry in 3 to 5 hours depending on the company.
